The Park,The Party,and the pussycat.

While driving along the A19 north bound, I noticed an old stone tower hidden among the trees, I had not seen this strange building before, for two reasons…The first being I do not travel along this part of the A19 very often, and secondly the trees are without leaf at this time of year,
so revealing this little treasure.
I decided to take a closer look and was pleasantly surprised, "ney delighted" at what I had discovered. It transpired that it was not just a old tower in the trees but a science park, still under construction in parts, there were lakes with wildfowl a plenty.
Originally it had been a Gothic gate house built in 1764

It was a wonderful surprise for me to find this little gem of a place, so it was out with my new Nikon D80 and took a few pics.
It was purely by chance and so unexpected that I came upon this little place of beauty, and needless to say that I shall be returning to this special little park later in the summer.

This is the view of the large lake. ( I wonder if there are any fish in it.)

view across the big lake.

A pair of Swans came to ask for some bread.

  3. Oh how I was a bottle of wine was my excuse for not locking the doors – at least I’d have an excuse.  Sad to say I think my mother would have been right to call me a simpleton for doing it!

Thank You, Kenny. That was very sweet of you to leave the swan for me. I tried inviting you to my friends list but it still says invited. Would you be so kind as to invite me? Sometimes my invitation thing doesnt work. You know, speaking of swans…I do remember once about 10 years ago I went to a garage sale at a fancy home here in town. They had their own pond on the property and there was a swan in that pond. I think that is the only time I have seen a swan around here. I have a feeling they brought that swan in from far off place. Perhaps New York has swans too? I have never been there but I think they have many swans.

      Have a good day!

Amazing pictures… I love the swans. I wish we had swans here to take pictures of. There are none near me that I know of. Found you by way of Lisas blog. I hope you will accept my invitation to my friends list. I also have a regular blog too. My name on that one is Norwegian Rose. Thanks for sharing your wonderful adventures and photographs!

  10. Shoot, I forgot to wish you a happy Easter.  I know you’re not inclined to the religious side of it, so picture this instead:   2 chocolate bunnies facing each other.  One says to the other, "Happy Easter", but the other one says, "What?" …….because someone already ate his ears.

  11. Ooooooo, Kenny!  What shots!  This tower is magnificent as are the swans and the lake and the fountain. If I’m ever lucky enough to visit your country, this is one place I would really like to visit.  AND, if I come, I’ll be expecting a party, lol.
LOVE the Maine Coon.  I just happen to have one myself (my Sam) and have lots of pics of him in my photos. Great cats they are….and my Sam is missing a little part of himself as well, lol.  But shhhhhhh, he doesn’t know it.

Running in Adam’s cloth on the beach ….errr….have you really tried this? I mean…the sand….err….ok I’ll try to say it in a "girly" way which i am not really. Is there by any chance a way to avoid the sand from,……getting in…..areas…that would……OK I ABANDON! You must have a clue of what I meaning to say:OP

    Thank for the idea though!!!

    Hello Kenny,
I’m happy to make it into your domain today.  Your graphics and/or my slow computer  prevent me to visit quite often. But today I am able to view the pictures and say hello.
The lakes are lovely as are the swans.  We are warming up a bit…..some wet snow and rain the next few days but I am seeing some warmer temps and there is the hint of spring color in the trees.
We enjoyed St. Patty’s Day, and enjoyed the traditional corned beef and cabbage with carrots and potatoes. i can hardly wait for the earth to warm up and to get started on the garden.  I hope you are well and do enjoy that new camera.  Fondly……Bittersweet
