Dissapearing blog.

THE DISSAPEARING BLOG.

Recently the phrase  " You don’t know what you got till it’s gone"   became quite suddenly, hard wired home to me.
Seconds after publishing my last post, titled  "The bridle path", my blog module suddenly disappeared before my unbelieving eyes.
It was a shock to realize just how important  my space had become to me.
I became depressed, saddened and at a loss to understand how, and just why this should happen.
For day’s I struggled with this problem, even opened a new account "hurriedly". I then began to invite people I had met to this new space I had constructed, so, some of you now have me twice in your friends list. This shall not be a problem as I have decided to rename this space  "CHERNO’S DEN". You are very welcome to visit Cherno and perhaps leave him the odd bone or chicken leg  🙂 Don’t worry he dosn’t bite.

After contacting "support", informing them of my problem and jumping through their hoop’s. (as  PJ. so nicely termed it)
The problem  still was not resolved, I had become very disappointed and dissolutioned with the their response to my plea for help.  "Then"… I thought about the man who had helped me on previous occasions some years ago.
Many of you will know him as Mark, from  " Little fish big pond".
I e/mailed Mark describing my dilemma and his response solved the problem.  Within seconds  my blog reappeared !!!
Evidently it was just a bit of bad code that had found it’s way into the blog. All I had to do was, to copy the code paste it into my note pad and then quite simply delete the code in the blog.  "Bingo"  my blog module was visible once more :))
Question :  Why did support have me running round in circles for days, when the answer was so simple.
I  have been in debt to Mark for many reasons, but this is one debt I shall never be able to repay. I only wish I could.
Mark is, in my eye’s one of the top men who offers help to people on W.L.Spaces.
Check him out, you can learn much from this man.

PS :  I was so happy and relieved to have my blog back, I decided to go fishing today. Read all about the disastrous events that occurred  in my next blog. Coming soon.
OK  I am fair tuckered out, so I am off to my cot.
Nighty night all.
Kenny.

  1. I print a cope on what i blog in the beginning, of course slowly how many will keep that up! After seeing so many lost their blog, may be  i should learn to burn it in a disc. Don’t know if that could be done! Keep thinking to have some computer class to learn more about the stuff, any online class offer in here! :-) Hope you had a good catch! Drop some off when you pass by the quay! Your new hair cut look very SMART!!! Kenny, Mei

  2. Sorry you had so much trouble with Spaces Kenny.  I guess I had better copy all of my friends blog locations to a file for safe keeping and for future reference when my site goes belly up like so many others have.

Yes, life is a bowl of cherries just don’t come close to describing my adventures with online dating.  But it is occuping my time, as if I have so much of it to spare!!!! I know that you suggested that I not going looking for love and to let it find me.  Unfortunately I’m one of those proactive people who like to make things happen, but I do discourage easily when the net result isn’t what I was trying to achieve.  Not sure what I’m going to do about the situation, I have to mull that over for a bit.

    Be well.  Peace

  3. I think the relief deserves fishing for sure…turds.

As computer illiterate, I have to get family and pay them for the slightest problem.

Tech support is a no for me..nine hours once and slept for two days from stress.

And on Johnathon, "The Magic Feather" [or "The Blue Feather" I think for original title was inspiring to me..Robert Bush [sp?] is great.

But seagulls are my favorite bird for lots of reasons..soaring for one thing, but something special hard to pin down.

Spoof tactics like that is "bad Johnathon for sure..but Deborah could use a laugh, and to not consider "what you could have done back to them" is not good for you.

Johnathon went to war..and..took the smartest ones with him.

Compete and exceed limits was his only theme..set records, do the most possible.

But the value of "mental revenge" in "could but won’t" catagories is win without play.

Then you can just "say to yourself" that you are superior to them and not get in deeper.

    I’d do it of course..perfectly.

I’d try to get it featured with television interviews in fact..go big.

"The Invisible Seagull" for the article..I can see it all now.

    So..strategic progression?

Then the dna and disease checks shows "fifty different Seagulls."  What? Targeting this one woman’s car?? Oooeeeeooohh.

And then phase three….wait until the surveilance is gone, proceed if she ain’ t gone yet.

Get myself a good story for the FBI maybe in the "wait periods."

    Laughter is good medicine?

Welcome to the weired and wonderful  world of the inexplicable, the virtually impossible
and quite simply brain dead. A place where wrong defies right, a place where black
                            turns to white.
All that "Man" makes is fallible, only nature can create perfection.

I have long since given up the burden of trying to "figure" the mysteries of the computer
All I am aware of is: that it has "changed the world"

Alas, I tried it but it doesn’t seem to have worked. The really weird thing (as if things could get any weirder, but then hey – this is Microsoft we’re talking about) is this: not only can people using Firefox see my blog with no difficulty, but from one of the Internet computers at work, and also from the Internet computer at my eye doctor’s clinic, both of which use Internet Explorer, I can see the central column, including the blog, with no difficulty. However, from the other computer at work, I cannot – I have to go into summaries and select the entry I want to see. Furthermore, I’ve heard from some of my cyber-friends that they can see the central column using Firefox, but not when using Internet Explorer. As they say across the Pond – "Go Figure".

Sorry to have befuddled you, but if it is any consolation, I befuddled myself also.
That Jake sounds a handful :)

    Amiee.
Don’t know "how" and I don’t know "what"…just very pleased for the help from Mark.
RE: subliminal message’s.   Blue sky thinking !!!

    Sarah.
Yes indeed it was a surprise and some, a shock really. But it is a great comfort to know
that if it happens again, we have the knowledge to fix it.

    Patricia.
"Explain that"….I have ceased trying to explain the workings of the "support" team…
Yes I hope also that Shimona sorts er disappearing blog.  I feel sure she shall ,
if she adopts the procedure that I did.

    PJ.
The silly thing for me is that I had read some years ago about the disappearing
blog and how to fix it.   but my memory being what it is…  must be my age.

    Kate.
Lovely to here from you again, and thank you.

    Deborah.
You should have air brushed her breasts out, before posting the picture, but
"Botticelli"   would not be best pleased.     Great artist.

    Mark.
Your willingness to share your knowledge is a gift  to us all.  thank you.

  8. I know exactly how you felt, for when MSN shut me down for what they claimed were naughty pictures I was depressed.  I couldn’t even get into the space to see what all the furor was over.  Many letter to MSN finally got results and I was given 48 hrs to go in and clean it up.  Turns out it was a painting by Boticelli that showed the esposed breasts of a Goddess that got me shut down.  I am very careful about what I post now, because that picture had been in my files for two years.  Glad you weren’t down for six weeks like I was.  Have a great day fishing,
    Blessed be.

  10. Kenny I am just glad you got it straightened out, we pour our heart and souls into these blogs and I would have been every bit as upset as you. I have never heard of that code problem before.  I am so happy for you, now I know who to go to if I have that problem too.  Take care my friend.  PJ

  11. Kenny, I’m glad you got that straightened out…maybe it will help Shimona, too…a curious thing how it happened in the first place…I’ve lost all my little "purties"…no music, clock, etc….I’ll try to fix all that before too long…but, at least my blog was there…I did write to support about some spam in me private message box…they haven’t been very helpful…gave them all the information they asked for when I reported it, they emailed me for the same information, I sent it back to them and the email came back as undeliverable…explain that!…oh, well…that’s life…lol…will be looking to read about the fishing trip…

  12. Yes, Kenny, what she said, just previous to this comment–"how’d the bad code get in there?"

It is a surprise to see one’s creation–a whole world really–go up like that–POOF.  I hope Spaces Help finds these comments and makes a note of it!  I will give the fix connection to my daughter, whose blog disappeared two years ago.  Thanks, Kenny!

  14. I am real glad you got it back.
Not only did you disappear, but your invite took me to a page that said the space couldn’t be found.
I was wondering what to do next befuddled.
I will check it again, and leave something for Cherno if I can wrestle a morsel from Jake the Bear (he does bite)
    Take Care and welcome back!
