Doctor Zhivago  Ahhh   yes. A great film powerful, emotional and brilliantly acted by Omar Sharif . A love story a story of passion, blood and Bolsheviks and the downfall of the Tsarist autocracy that led to the creation of the Russian SFSR.

I liked Rita Tushinghams 2 cameos at the beginning and the end.

Hope you enjoy the music as you sit recalling the film.

These 2 stills from the video, may help you remember moments from the film.

  1. Well, I hate to be the one to say this, but I never liked that film. Julie Christie leaves me cold, and Omar Sharif!! What was his problem? Geraldine Chaplin is a fine woman. Oh, well. What was that film about anyway? Egotism and selfishness in the midst of the Russian Revolution? Phooey! I clearly don’t get it. But I like your photo.

    • Yes Monica, egotism, selfishness and more. Rape, torture, love, hate and brutality. All these things “to me” make it a classic. Including Rod Steiger and his tendency to overact. Sometimes I think it is time that England had a similar revolution. The masses are sick of being treated like none entities , by this corrupt uncaring government. I am serious.

    • I recall seeing it for the first time Sue. So dramatic, it had a big impression on my young mind. To this day a tear will appear during certain sequences. Thats me I guess, just a big softie

        • I have always felt a tenuous link between my Swedish experience’s and The film. The pic of Lisa and Roberth reminds me of the film. Don’t worry about me keeping warm, another 6 sacks of Anthracite shall be delivered Friday. 🙂
          Be well Sue.
