Golden eye.

Had stumbled from my bed before the light of the Sun, had time to brighten my room.   I expected a cold wet miserable morning would be the scene outside my curtains, so I left them closed.  But when a little ray of sunshine  burst through the gap in the kitchen curtains, I was pleasantly surprised to see not a cloud in the sky.  Instantly the chemicals in my head changed and I felt a surge of goodly feelings rush through my body.

The morning passed, and had just been talking to a friend on the phone, when I turned my head as i was rising from the sofa I saw this .

Looks like the female Sparrow Hawk has survived the recent bad weather.  She sat perched there for 2/3 minuets. giving me time to grab my camera and take 5 shots of her through the window before she,  like lightening, bolted across the garden and was gone  !!! “OH” what a pleasant day it has been and to finish it off , a little Golden oldie.

  1. Lovely Day all round then Kenny with that beautiful Sparrow Hawk….. You should hear the call of the birds around here then the hush when a sparrow hawk is near by… Its a couple of years now since one swooped down in my garden and for one poor little sparrow it was the end…. But thats Nature…
How is that little kitten of yours doing 🙂 Have you still got her??

    • Hi Nicki, I lived in Sweden during the seventies. With my Swedish wife. My Daughter and grandchildren live near nykoping. No , I do not think Sweden has changed for the better. The whole of Europe has changed. We did not understand the negative effect of global migration. The stereotypical Swede has blonde hair and blue eyes !!! I think in 20 years time , this shall not be the norm. Previously people could be seen Waring beautiful colored clothes. Now it seems everyone is Waring boring black, reflecting their winter mood perhaps.

      cold

Don’t get me wrong, I like Sweden and the swedes, but like everywhere else, the wind of change is blowing with a terrible force behind it.
Be well my Swedish friend and stay warm !!!

    • Hi Monica, The video on “eternal spaces” didn’t work 😦 so I deleted it. Yes it was a very lucky capture of the Hawk. I see her darting about here and there sometimes. But for her to perch on my fence and stay long enough for me to take a picture of her, is lucky indeed. Lucky also that the sun had made one of it’s rare appearances.
Pleased you like the music 🙂

  6. Awesome day Kenny! And I totally share your feelings about the start of the day, in fact I thought I was reading about myself for a moment! How delightful to know we were so in tune for a brief moment this morning 😉 I did have a slight panic attack (mild understatement there!) before leaving for work but even that didn’t last with such a surprise beautiful day to boost the spirits 🙂 Beautiful Sparrowhawk…you are so lucky! Glad you had such a good day, nice to know I wasn’t alone in such pleasing daytime thoughts lol 😉
    Timid one 🙂

    • When sunlight enters the eye, the brain tingles and the world seems a better place. But to add to my rising spirits came this fearsome little hunter. For just a fleeting moment she sat on my fence blinking in the sunshine. It was just one of those wonderful moments we sometimes experience. But oh so easy to have missed.
Be well Timid one, and keep in tune 🙂
      Kenny.

  8. Most excellent Kenny! I have only ever seen one in my garden and did not get a shot of her. They do linger a little, looking to pounce (!), just perfect for you to snap her. 🙂
