Happy Birthday Charlie  !

Photobucket

Darwin Day is a instituted celebration intended to commemorate the anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin on February 12, 1809. The day is used to highlight Darwin’s contribution to science and to promote science in general.

It is also Abraham Lincolns Birthday on the 12th Feb. In fact they were both born on the same day, month and year as each other. Such a delicious coincidence  !!! But there the similarity ends.  Many Americans feel that Lincoln stands on a par with Darwin.  Now just where did they get that idea from. How “dare” they even for one moment dream that Lincoln is worthy of basking in the same light as Darwin.  Lincoln abolished slavery, Darwin abolished God  !      So who ‘s Birthday will you be celebrating on Tuesday.

The assertion that “all men are equal” was of no practical use in effecting our separation from Great Britain and was placed in the declaration not for that, but for future use.

Lincoln.

  1. Valentine’s Day is all about celebrating love, affection and a bond that holds two people together.
What can be more special than the special bond of friendship that we share?
Happy Valentine’s Day to you my friend.. Nicki

  2. Hi Kenny and Happy Lincoln’s Birthday. OK, Darwin’s, too. As usual, you interest and provoke. Great combination. Americans do revere Lincoln. We could use him today, but he probably couldn’t be elected. Not photogenic and can’t communicate what he has to say in a nano-second soundbite. Poor us. We celebrate Presidents’ Day now, in between Lincoln’s birthday on the 12th and George Washington’s on the 22nd. (Remember Washington, or may I not speak of him?) So now we honor the good, bad, and downright indifferent all together. As for Darwin and God, I don’t see the inconsistency. Westerners are so either-or-ish. Unless one insists on a literal rather than allegorical 6-earth-day creation.

    • Hi Monica, nice to see you back on my part of this 14 billion year old spinning lump of rock. I have forgiven Washington for running Britain out of America. So feel free to mention him anytime 🙂 From my Darwinian perspective, the 6 day creation is a allegorical fantasy. Yes I am a dreamer, but logic always wakes me up with a thump. Literally, in terms of time the sign’s are unmistakable, Man walked this Earth long before the black book was conceived. America can “fear” god if it chooses. But England fears nothing. Religion is dying, “fact”

The transmutation of species by Natural selection, is too beautiful to be disbelieved. The double helix is such a wondrous work of art “designed” by Mother Nature herself.
WOOPS.. BEST STOP THERE.. feel I am ranting ! 🙂
Be well Monica, you are important to me 🙂

    “Darwin abolished God….”
Interesting statement from a “none believer” in the existence of God.
    Timid one 😉

  4. Well I learn something new everyday and this was a new fact for me about the same birth dates..
I hope that we can bring forth some new enlightened souls into the world Kenny who will help prepare mankind to get himself out of the mire he now seems destined to dig himself further into as regards our own evolutionary path along the pollution trail…
Sending you a Warm Thought this Winter snow filled day my friend

    • I feel it shall require more than a few enlightened souls, to dig mankind out of the hole he has dug for himself.
I think it will take the participation and dedication of every government on Earth, to clean up this mess.
But how do we make good again the seas that are polluted constantly, by countries that dump radio active material into rivers.”japan” How do we make good again the skies that have been chronically contaminated with effluent, by the industrial powers that be. How do we make good this universal tribulation.
I do not expect you to answer these questions Sue, for as far as I can see, there exists no answers known to man. But high noon is fast approaching.
When Natures good green grass turns black, it shall be to late.

      • You are so right Kenny. there are no answers and yes mankind has gone a step too far .. Nature usually put things right eventually, but I think she will sort out alot of us Humans who she doesn’t want along with her for the next stage of her own evolution…

        • I take your point Sue. Yes Nature “usually” puts things right, and quite possibly she shall turn her back on humankind. A World without man, mmmm. has a heavy sadness about it.

  5. Well observed Kenny Lincon did a good job, and so did Darwin creating a better understanding of the world we live in no need to worship the world but we should honnor respect and protect its beauty (as if it were a God)

And of course they were both Aquarians, a very special star sign

    Take care
