Drugs.

TACROLIMUS

Photobucket

Some may be aware that I am a liver transplant recipient  and I take drugs to stop my body from rejecting my new liver. The drug I take is called TacrolimuS an immunosuppressant. It blocks the action of certain blood cells (eg, T lymphocytes) that can cause the body to reject the transplanted organ. NATURALLY there are “side effects”,  below is a list of the possible side effects I could experience. I have highlighted IN RED,  the effects that I “sometimes” do experience.

RE: MOOD SWINGS. I THINK I AM HANDLING THEM OK AND TRY HARD NOT TO UPSET PEOPLE TOO  F******  MUCH.

i DO FEEL AN UNUSUAL DROWSINESS, AFTER A LONG SLEEPLESS NIGHT 😉

i DO SWEAT A GREAT DEAL DURING THE NIGHT, and my heart rate increases, and i DO EXPERIENCE LOWER BACK AND GROIN PAIN.

I sometimes find  bruising  in strange places on my body, but I cant remember how they got there. this confuses me.

I also feel a tingling and burning sensation all over my body, I like that part best 😉

sometimes after a hard night, my lips and tongue become swollen. and i experience a shortness of breath

SOMETIMES I EXPERIENCE BLURRED VISION AND TEMPORARILY GO BLIND. JUST LIKE MOTHER SAID I WOULD.

But I do thirst for more.

I must say it is not the tablets that are driving me mental it is “women”

"oh" no not again.

oh dear me, i am tired of this SILLINESS now, so i am off to my cot. Nite nite sleep right 😉

  1. Not nice to experience all of these symptoms Kenny, and I sympathise with you… So many side effects Drugs have.. My own painkillers for FMS caused a stomach ulcer… So I ditched them for acupuncture instead…
Thanks for my Saturday Laughs though Kenny… Hope you stay snug and warm today 🙂 Hugs Sue

    • I don’t like needles, never have and never shall. The wonderful thing about my side effects is, I have none really. Just feel a little drowsy sometimes. So I am well chuffed and feeling “ripper” I am an excellent example of my kind, “cough-cough” 🙂

A big hug to you too Sue.

  2. Oh dear! I didn’t realise we caused you so much suffering Kenny!! lol 😉 Although I must say the side effects of my own drugs – no not those sort lol just a temporary medical necessity that was inflicted on me, were less than desirable…convulsions, fits, and hallucinations lol…vomiting, diarrhoea!!…to name but a few 😉 Thankfully I did not suffer such ill-fate but I did have some pleasently … I mean terribly lol drowsy sleepy times on it 🙂 Amazing the effect men can have on the human female isn’t it??!!! Hmm! I hope you’re symptoms have subsided somewhat and you are enjoying the womanly charms that may hopefully be coming your way 🙂
    Timid one 🙂

  3. As always, I like your sense of humor (or “humour”, as they say in certain strange places). Do women come with a warning label? Not necessary; everybody knows the risks. Be well, dear friend. We like having you around very much.

    • I LIKE BEING AROUND VERY MUCH MONICA 🙂 When I was about 11 years old, I was so excited because my mother had taken me to the new swimming baths in my town. I could not get undressed quick enough. I handed the basket containing my clothes and towel to the attendant and when I saw the expanse of clear blue and inviting water before me. I walked toward it, my heart a thumping and blind with excitement. I took one almighty running jump and with a crashing splash. I found myself floundering in the deep end. I could not swim at the time and had to be rescued by two older girls. Ever since then, I have always tested the depth of all situations that I was about to enter.

Yes Monica I am perfectly aware of the risk involved, unlike that of the 11 year old kid I once was.
Fancy going swimming this weekend do you lol
Take care my far away friend.
      Keep smiling 🙂
