  1. I too despair of the destruction and pillage of our-land, I heard some pundit go on about the ‘myth’ of the vanishing countryside, though 92 % of Britain is still undeveloped countryside, what he hopes we don’t realize that about 80% of that is under intense cultivation with nothing taller than one metre,
As Sue has commented on the loss of birds, how very true, in fact I’d been discussing this with a Face book friend yesterday. It’s just too sad for words and would make the devil himself weep.

    • We have witnessed over the years many species of birds and mammals, fall into a rapid decline. It has been years since I heard the hoot of the Tawney owl on my roof at night. Or the screech of the barn Owl. The Water vole’s that were so plentiful in the beck just out back from me, have “gone” They had been breeding in that beck successfully for countless decades. Yes Arlene, i weep along with the devil.

  2. I lament too Kenny, Ghostwood should be a wake-up call, trouble is so many are following their dream for their perfect life that any thought of the planet goes out of the window pretty damn quickly. Many thanks for dropping by and leaving your comment recently, I’ve had a ‘light’ bulb moment, forgot where t’switch was. 🙂 xx

    • Talking about light bulb switches Pen, I sometimes think my electric supply has been cut off LOL .
Nothing wrong with people following their dreams, it’s just that some of their dreams are way too fanciful. Chasing a dream can also prove to be so disappointing and for some devastating and that is coming from a Natural dreamer.
Pleased to know you are still active Penny.
      Kenny x

  3. We need land to build to accommodate the ever increasing masses…if the human inhabitants of this planet grew up enough to stop breeding like an uncontrolled bunch of lustful rabbits this problem might be eradicated along with a whole string of other environmental issues.

    • It is a conundrum Timid one. How to accommodate an ever expanding populus without destroying it’s natural beauty. The words “Go forth and multiply” spring to mind. That is man’s fundamental calling “OH” and how he has responded. Easter island also springs to mind, how an entire thriving nation became “extinct” because they harvested themselves out of timber. They chopped all the trees down, “without planting new”. “idiots” Yes Timid One “we need to build” but we also need to give more thought to our own survival.

    • Yes Sue, I was thinking of the past last night and this picture materialized. The wood i used to walk in is now a by pass. It is neither the lady or myself that represents the ghost. The ghost is the wood itself.

      • Arrgh well now that makes perfect sense, far too many woods and hedgerows are being torn down for roads, or new housing.
The sparrows are deminishing form my garden, I have several evergreen trees which they fly into for protection and to roost in, but as the hedgerows near by are no longer there, each year their numbers get less and less.. People do not think of the knock on effects of the lack of habitat space for birds and wild life…
I lament for you Ghost the Wood!

        • It is true Sue, the systematic devouring of our countryside by ravenous money hungry developers. Surely shall swallow up our entire carpet of green. I am not against progress, however, I feel since the industrial revolution, very little thought has been given to Nature. To every English man’s detriment. “MONEY-MONEY=BLOODY MONEY !!! It is “PRODUCTION RULES” and sorry about the “DESTRUCTION” of your fields, meadows and wildlife.
