More importantly,  how to deal with it.

Jealousy happens when a person feels that a relationship that is of importance is threatened by someone else outside of the relationship, be it romantic, platonic, friendship, parent-child, sibling etc. Jealousy can also occur in the context of competitive situations, such as the workplace or education. Jealousy differs from envy, the latter is where you desire something that another person has, although sometimes you can feel both at the same time.

    • Yes I understand Sue. I myself have in the past fallen victim to the evil of this monster and indeed have unleashed it myself upon innocent people, to my shame. But that was then and this is now and now I have that emotion well caged and bound, never to see the light of day again. I am at peace with myself these days 🙂 Yes i used to wish my life could have been different in some ways. But I envy noone I have accepted my lot and now I am enjoying the later years of my life. With age comes wisdom as they say !!! Now, Kenny dun got wise 🙂

  2. Hi Kenny, you are so right to highlight the damage caused by jealousy. There is nothing good in this emotion as it eats you up and destroys you and the relationships around you. Good reminder in your post.

I hope you’re doing well my friend. We need to start that Sundance up again this year as I’m beginning to forget what it looks like!! 🙂 🙂

    • Hi Ruth, lovely to have you visit.
Jealousy i think is a precursor/signal that danger is lurking, as Sarah ” ayrgael ” has suggested. Which i suppose is a good thing. But it is only a warning and when people with short fuses and a wild imaginations lose sight of reality. Blood can be spilled. The Lamb becomes the Wolf.

So pleased I can control this monster, “now”

RE: Sundance. My moccasins are soaking wet with all this rain. Think someone has been doing the wrong dance 😉

Yes I am just fine Ruth and sincerely hope you are too 🙂

  3. ah, Kenny, that green eyed monster can make life so darned uncomfortable. I think I’ve grown out of it, at least I hope so, for sometimes I say a thing, and ‘ears’ take note, (fate or whomsoever) wheels turn , then lo and behold I’m eating my words. !! (Pass the salt!!) If we could all just let go this emotion I feel the world would be a much better place. xPenx

    • I hear you Pen. I say things sometimes then immediately bite my tongue. We say to defend ourselves that we are only joking. But in our heads we know full well we really mean it “and” we know full well that it is wrong. Like some can’t help falling in love knowing quite well it is the wrong thing to do at the time. We just can’t help it :/

  4. Sometimes it does actually serve a purpose. A while a go we had a small situation – I won’t go into deep details but suffice to say that the third party wasn’t serious, was taking the piss and enjoying the trouble they were causing; had I believed the relationship had a future I would have let go but it didn’t the third party was just an uncaring meddler and there are times when you do have to stand up for what you love. In general I don’t take much notice of his other friends but that one HAD to go.

  5. Just for the record. I have in the past suffered from this negative emotion. But now at my age, I don’t give a fishes fart about any situation involving love, my possessions or anything else that normally would have inflamed this destructive emotion that is embedded within us all. In fact it can not possibly do anyone any good, so why did my beloved Mother Nature, install it into the Human makeup in the first place. Beats me !!!
