Whilst sitting in my garden this morning, I moved an old pot that had been standing there for too long doing nothing. There was a piece of old cloth at the bottom of it. When I lifted the cloth, I was surprised to see this big dark coloured Moth. YIKES…I had never seen anything like it before.
I did think at first of the Peppered Moth This is the Moth that Evolution, because of pollution, had turned from white to black . Middlesbrough being an industrial town during earlier days, I thought seemed plausible. But then i noticed the red markings on the back of the Moth. So checking on the internet, I was disappointed and surprised not to find anything that fitted the description of the Moth I had discovered.
If anyone out there can throw any light on this, I would be very greatful.
Yours kenny2dogs
Wow that’s big! Nearly as big as the huge bumble bee that was one minute buzzing round my head lol and the next buzzing angrily inside my blouse!!!! Terrifying Hewhorunsfasterthanthewind!! I did manage to set it free without getting stung but I did get some very odd looks from the passersby who wondered what this strange Icewolf was doing leaping around flapping her clothing and peering down her cleavage with a look of irated horror! That’s the last time I wear modest, feminine clothing on a hot summers day!!! 🙂
